Tempering Technician Training Certificate
NGA Members $299 / Non-Members $399
Introducing the Tempering Technician Certificate program—a six-course online training for tempering personnel that walks them step-by-step through the entire heat-treatment process, training them on tasks and best practices to help ensure high product quality. Suitable for furnace operators, production supervisors, and quality control personnel, the online training covers everything from equipment and glass preparation to controlling heat distribution in the furnace and proper glass inspection. Developed by the tempering experts of NGA’s Fabricating Committee, the 3.5-hour training is broken down into quick-hit, interactive training segments that can be taken on a smartphone or computer, with a certificate of achievement upon completion of the training and tests. Good for one year upon enrollment, each training can also be quickly referenced on the production floor when completing specific tasks.

The Basics of Heat-Treating Glass
How to tell the difference between the three main types of architectural glass
Explain how heat-treating makes glass stronger and safer
How to identify some of the fabrication limitations of heat-treated glass
